QPQ II

If you've been following this blog long, you may remember Quid Pro Quo. That was the post in which I told of a brave sheik, and one of the sucess stories of our interaction here in the Anbar province. I would like to refer you to the LA Times, where you will find more detail than I provided, and an account of events since. You're required to register for the site, but it is free to do so and definitely worth the time.

    Tip:

Use bugmenot (http://www.bugmenot.com) to bypass sites that want you to register.

If you use Firefox, there is an extension that does the work for you without having to manually go to the bugmenot.com each time and get a login and password.

It works well enough that I don't even know anymore which sites require one to register and which don't.

And Kerry said our troops in Iraq were uneducated. Based on your blog, I think you could run literacy and litarary rings around his ass. I know it raised my IQ a few points or ten, and I'm a submarine sailor. I am thoroughly impressed, young man. Keep up the good work over there, and come home safe. My prayers are with you.

  6. Excellent article. I'm amazed that it's in the LA Times of all places.

My favourite part; "Fatikhan, who wears tailored suits when not in traditional clothing, understands U.S. politics. He told a visiting journalist, "Please take a message to the Democrats: Let the American forces stay until we can hold Iraq together. Then we will have a party when American forces go."

    Keep up the great work.
